This week, I had the opportunity to create an infographic. I decided to do mine over Percy Aldridge Grainger. He may be overlooked by many, but personally I feel like I wouldn't be where I am in my career without his music. I can only hope I could shed at least a little light on the background of one of the most eccentric composers from the contemporary era. To make this, I used the app Piktochart. It was awesome to look through all of the different templates within the app. It has a section solely dedicated to infographics, which made this process a ton easier. They had some preset images on the template I chose, but also had a wide selection of images and shapes in their inventory. Of course, you could always upload your own photos as well! Before we get to the process, here's a video about using infographics in the classroom.
Now that we have a few ideas, I must say that some of them may not work for the focus of this blog, music. However, I would love to have a few hanging around my future classroom because I think they're an excellent way to convey information that may not be covered in regular instruction, or could even serve as some reminders for information already covered. Here's a video on how to make your own, and some other things found in piktochart!
Here's my own infographic over Percy Grainger. Go ahead and take a look!
